Slow Food Event at Torridon - Saturday 1st November

As recent new members of Slow Food we have decided to offer a weekend at The Torridon in conjunction with 'Slow Food West Highlands & Islands' celebrating local produce. What could be more local than langoustines from the clear waters of Loch Torridon, a Marine Conservancy Area.

Early Saturday visit our local fisherman to see what it is all about and discuss the fishing that goes on in the area. In the afternoon enjoy one of the activities available and then in the evening we will have a gastronomic dinner promoting our local produce, hosted by chef and his team with a wee talk from our local fisherman.

Glorious Cheese -  Friday 27th and Saturday 28th February 2009

After our success as Winner of Best Cheese Board at the 2007 British Cheese Awards and building on the success of our first event in 2008, we are again offering a cheese master class from renowned cheese expert Julia Harbutt. Amazingly she will be supported by Alex James, formerly a band member with Blur, but now an artisan cheese maker from the Cotswold. As two prominent members of the cheese revolution taking place in Britain, it is a great opportunity to experience the world of cheese.

A weekend of cheese, wine and food with a master class in the day and a dinner in the evening. Unravel the myths & misconceptions behind the world of cheese & wine and food. Learn to recognise different types of cheeses, identify the characteristics of the main grape varieties and experience the joy of uncovering the perfect match. How a wine can literally bring out the best in one cheese, adding to the sensual experience of dining while leaving the taste-buds to dive for cover with the next.

We’re not talking malolactic fermentation or viticulture, but knowing a Pinot Noir from a Merlot, your Chablis from your Sancerre. So whether you are thinking of a career in wine, dining out with clients or simply entertaining at home, you will never again be intimidated by a wine list, a wine waiter, or the cheese trolley.

Inspirational, informative and designed for anyone who loves food and wants to develop a knowledge of wine and cheese and food.

Painting weekend

Following on from the success of the weekend in September 2007 we are hoping to run the weekend again in 2008. Keep your eye out for more information!
